You are lovable now.
The anti-glow-up spell.

You are worthy of love now.
Not when you get the promotion.
Not when you lose the stubborn ten pounds.
Not when your wardrobe feels cooler.
Not when you finally quit smoking.
Not when you travel to the seventh wonder of the world.
Not when the girl in your yoga class decides you’re interesting.
Right now. Today. As you are.
Across belief systems, the message repeats: you don’t have to earn your place in the world.
A smart atheist will tell you that unconditional love is essential for any creature to thrive.
Either way, the conclusion is the same:
you do not have to earn love.
I had this moment today… a tiny, embarrassing daydream.
I imagined bumping into someone from my past when I was hotter, lighter, smarter, more successful.
A full “look what you missed out on” fantasy.
A glow-up revenge arc.
But then I stopped.
Because if they only wanted me richer, prettier, or more polished…
they didn’t want me.
And I am worthy of love in my darker days, my slow seasons, my soft collapses.
I am lovable in the becoming, not just the blooming.
They tell you this cliché line over and over:
“If they couldn’t handle you at your worst, they don’t deserve you at your best.”
But it hits different when you catch yourself reenacting the harmful belief… and cut the spell mid-sentence.
So let me remind you the way I reminded myself:
You are worthy of love today.
Yesterday.
Tomorrow.
Before the glow-up.
During the mess.
After the heartbreak.
You don’t have to shape-shift for affection.
You don’t have to audition for care.
I love you guys.

If something in here made your heart feel less alone, subscribing supports my delusion that I’m meant to be a writer. (Thank you in advance.) 🤍
If you want to support the Soft Chaos ecosystem (aka: me, sitting on my bed having realizations), the tip jar is open. 🕯️

Untying love from improvement disrupts a belief many people keep rehearsing without noticing. Worth that only arrives after transformation keeps the present self in a constant waiting room.
So true Jasna. And when we increase our consciousness to that of our true identity ❤️🙏✨
